Obituary

Mrs. Ruth Jackson Delancey, 75, of Anderson, SC, passed away January 2, 2022 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.

Born on October 28, 1946 in Rock Hill, SC, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Jackson. Mrs. Delancey was a homemaker and a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Survivors include her two sons: James Rowland (Rhonda) of Alto, GA, and David McCann of Rochester, NY; daughter: Kathy Wing (Shannon) of Gaffney, SC; one brother: Jerry Jackson; one sister: Jan Jackson; nine grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. Mrs. Delancey is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Robert "Bob" Delancey; one son: Terry Rowland; one brother: James Jackson; and three sisters: her twin Ruby Jackson, Johnnie Jackson, and Judy Jackson.

The family will receive friends Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

It was Ruth's wishes to be cremated and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held Sunday, January 30, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Randall Starrett officiating.

The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
