Mrs. Ruth Ann Borders Hill, 82, of Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Hartwell Health and Rehab.

Born on March 18, 1941 in Anderson SC, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Frank Borders Sr and Elease Chitwood Borders.  Mrs. Hill was a retired machine operator with Springs Industries and a member of Oak Bower Baptist Church and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. She loved to sew and craft.

Survivors include her daughter: Betty H. Allen (Billy) of Hartwell; two grandchildren: Heather Shields (Chris) of Marietta, Hannah Whitworth (Garrett) of Royston; three great grandchildren: Sophia Shields, Eden Shields, Gracie Rae Whitworth and a special friend and sister: Barbara Carter (Donald) of Lavonia. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Larry Gene Hill Sr; one son: Larry Gene Hill Jr; one brother: Frank Borders Jr; and two sisters: Irene Simpson and Betty Jean King

The family will receive friends Friday, September 22, 2023 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home of Betty and Billy Allen, 3309 Old 29 Hwy, Hartwell GA.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Hill will be September 22, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Tommy Cleveland officiating.  Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

Flowers are optional, memorials may be made to the Oak Bower Baptist Church, 1589 Old 29 Hwy, Hartwell GA 30643.
