In the morning hours of February 18, 2013, at Margaret O'Brien's Adult Care, Toccoa, GA, 91-year old Ruth Phillips of Lavonia, GA was called home to meet her Lord and Savior face to face.

Ruth was the daughter of the late B. Lee Price and Daisy Pearman Price.

Ruth is survived by her son, Tony Phillips and his wife, Dianne, who was like a daughter to her. Ruth is also survived by grandchildren and their spouses whom she loved dearly.Her granddaughter Kelly P. Akin and husband James of Carnesville and grandson Korey Phillips and wife Leda currently residing in Germany. Ruth also has five great-grandchildren, Ansley Akin, Drew Akin, Franklin Phillips, Oliver Phillips and
Quinn Phillips.

Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim Phillips, with whom she was
married for 71 years.Ruth was also preceded in death by all four of her sisters,
Faye Murphree, Lallie Craven, Grace Brown, and Lorene Elrod.

Ruth was a graduate of Stephens County High School.She also operated Phillips TV & Appliance in Lavonia for over 35 years with her husband Jim.

She was a faithful servant and devoted choir member of Lavonia First Baptist Church.

In celebration of Ruth's life, visitation will be held Thursday, February 21, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home in Lavonia with the funeral service following at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel.The Dr. Larry Finger will be officiating. There will be no graveside service for interment at Franklin Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Dianne Phillips, Lavonia, Ga.
