Mrs. Ruth Herring Sanders, 101, of 30 Kelsey Dr., Hartwell, peacefully passed away September 3, 2013 at Lake Pointe Assisted Living.

Born on March 27, 1912 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late J.P. Herring and Maddie Vickery Herring.She was a retired seamstress from Hartwell Garment Company, was a member of Milltown Baptist Church, a former Sunday school teacher, and former treasurer.

Survivors include her son, Charles Sanders of Marietta; two daughters: Robbie Jo Herring of Hartwell, Peggy Adams of Doraville, GA; one sister, Mary Chapman of Hartwell; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great-grandchildren also survive.Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Franklin Sanders; a daughter, Callie Sue Sanders; one brother, Joel Herring; three sisters: Lorine Brown, Carolyn Herring, Maude Chastain; and one grandchild, Aaron Adams, Jr.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Milltown Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Black, Rev. Ken Brewer and Rev. Johnny Jones officiating.The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 pm. Burial will be in the Milltown Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family is at the home of Robbie Jo Herring, 236 Murray Avenue, Hartwell, GA30643.
