Mrs. Ruth Massey Skelton, age 67, wife of John Edward Skelton, died at her residence in Hartwell, GA on Friday, August 20, 2010.

Born in Muscogee County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Lee Massey and Beatrice Ruth Parks.She was a graduate of the University of Georgia with a BS in Education.She was co/owner and innkeeper of The Skelton House Bed and Breakfast in Hartwell.She was a member of the Hartwell First Presbyterian Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are: son, Parke Edward Skelton and his wife, Terri Hyland Skelton of Anderson, SC; daughter, Lee Ellen Skelton Rucks and her husband, Matthew James Rucks of Hendersonville, TN; daughter, Sally Skelton Turpin and her husband, David Judson Turpin of Bowersville, GA; Grandchildren, Bradley Alford and Sarah Ann Skelton, Ellen Massey and John Hamilton Rucks, Luke Judson and James Edward Turpin; sister, Judith Ellen Massey Wickham and husband, Dozier Neal Wickham of Columbus, GA.

Services will be held at the Hartwell First Baptist church on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.There will be a time of remembrance in the First Baptist Fellowship Hall after the service. In lieu of flowers; donations can be made to Hartwell First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 1279, Hartwell, GA30643 or the Hartwell First Baptist Church, 81 E. Howell Street, Hartwell, GA 30643.
