Mrs. Ruth Ellen Larson Taylor, 90, of Mt. Hebron Road, Hartwell, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2019 at St. Mary's Hospital, Athens.

Born on May 22, 1929 in Chicago IL, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Lawson Sr. and Ellen Johnson Lawson.Mrs. Taylor was a retired bookkeeper for the Hart County Middle School. She was also a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, where she served as the former church secretary and organist.

Survivors include two sons: Brad Taylor (Elizabeth) of Elberton, and Mycal Taylor of Hartwell; one brother: Herbert Larson of Lakeland, FL; four grandchildren: Caitlin Taylor Maxwell (Josh), Makayla Taylor, Christy Bates and Brandon Bowers; and one great grandchild: Logan Anthony. Mrs. Taylor is preceded in death by her parents and her husband: William Myers Taylor.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. At other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Taylor will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Webb and Rev. Charlie Stitch officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery.
