Ruth Mildred Thomas, age 81, of Martin, died Monday, February 1, 2016 at Brown Memorial Convalescent Center.
Born June 11, 1934, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Darby and Ola Mae (Hubbard) Thomas. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sisters: Polly Floyd, Betty Sellers, Edna Brawner, and Cheryl Leard; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: Sonny Thomas.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Harvill and Rev. Ricky McFarlan officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the service. At other hours the family will be at the home of Cheryl Leard.
