Mrs. Mary Ruth (Dahringer) Upton, age 78, of Lavonia, died Friday, April 16, 2010 at Stephens County Hospital.
Born May 2, 1931 in Lebanon, KY, she was the daughter of the late John and Hazel (McIlvoy) Dahringer. She was a graduate of St. Augustine High School in Lebanon. Mrs. Upton was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Conyers. She served faithfully in the St. Vincent DePaul Society and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Mark Daniel Upton.
She is survived by her husband: Don Upton of the home: daughter: Malinda Johnston of Clyde, NC; son: Donald G. Upton, Jr. of Cleveland, GA; and sister: Joan Ruggianna of Delaware.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Toccoa with Father Terry Crone officiating, committal will follow in Stephens Memorial Gardens.
