Mr. R. V. Billings, 85, of West Franklin Place, Hartwell, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Hartwell Health & Rehab.

Born in Anderson SC, he was the son of the late A.O. Billings and Annie Johnson Billings.Mr. Billings was retired from the Anderson County School System District 3, where he worked in Maintenance and was a member of the Ruhamah United Methodist Church, Starr SC.

Survivors include his wife: Virginia Harris Billings; two daughters: Shirley Hayes Moore and Sandra Billings both of Hartwell; four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren and a sister: Lula Mae Sharping of Anderson SC also survives.Mr. Billings was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; two sisters; three half-brothers and a half-sister.

Funeral services will be Monday, December 19, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Johnny Stowe and Rev. Adam Veal officiating.Burial will be in the Ruhamah United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening.The family is at the home of Sandra Billings, 15 Graham Way, Peek Estates, Hartwell.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 41 Perimeter Center, Suite 550, Atlanta GA 30346
