Mr. Philip Ryan Samuel, 27, of Lavonia, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia.

Born on March 26, 1997 in Anderson, SC, he was the son of Samuel Vijay Chandran and the late Maria Christine D'Souza. Mr. Samuel was the owner/operator of Lake Hartwell Power Sports, LLC in Lavonia, and he was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Elberton. Ryan came in 2nd at the 2021 Pro Watercross World Championship held in Naples, FL. He also enjoyed photography, drones, guns, and gunsmithing.

Mr. Samuel is survived by his father: Samuel Vijay Chandran of Lavonia, and his brother: Jonathan Dylan Samuel of Lavonia.

The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 12:00 to 1:45 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home.

A Funeral Mass for Mr. Ryan Samuel will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Mr. Samuel will be cremated following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family or their Go Fund Me to help defray funeral expenses.
