Sallie Lou Vickery Gaines, age 88, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at her home.

Born in Hartwell, GA on August 24, 1929, she was the daughter of the late James Walter Vickery and the late Mattie Hembree Vickery.She loved her family and loved working outdoors.She was a member of Varennes Heights Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Joel Gaines (Rachel), and Billy Ray Gaines, both of Anderson; a brother, Bobby Ray Vickery (Carolyn), of Hartwell, GA; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Lee Gaines, a brother, James Vickery; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Gaines.

The Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Reverend Dr. Kirt Mitchell and Reverend Furman Martin officiating.

The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Monday, August 20, 2018, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
