Mr. Sam Randall Lynch, 71, of 9 Cherry Lane, Hartwell, died Monday, February 6, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens, GA.
Born on November 14, 1940 in Pilot Mountain, NC he was the son of the late Sam Lynch and Claudia Jessup Lynch.He was previously employed by the North Carolina Department of Transportation.He was an avid enthusiast of the Boy Scouts of America and was a Boy Scout leader for many years.He also loved fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Burdette Lynch of the home; sister-in-law: Joyce Smith; brothers in laws and wives: Doug and Kathy Burdette, Willie and Marion Burdette, Bill and Susan Burdette;Several nieces and nephews also survive.Mr. Lynch was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Johnny Stowe officiating.The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.The family is at the home.
