Mr. Sammy F. Moorhead, 69, of Andrews, NC, died Thursday, March 15, 2007 at his residence.

He was a native of Hart County, Georgia but had been living in Andrews since September of 2006.He was the son of the late Hugh and Edna Cheek Moorhead.He had served in the US Army Reserves.Sammy worked for 34 years with Hart Communications and later retired from Engineering and Associates.Most recently, he was working with Sav-A-Lot in Andrews.He was a member of the Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge No. 690 and was a Shriner.He was of the Baptist Faith.

Surviving are his companion, Ginger Burch Woodall of the home; Sister, Peggy Guest and husband, Dean of Elberton, GA; Daughter, Kay Miller of Tennessee; Son, Todd Moorhead of Hartwell, GA; Sister-in-law, Kathy Moorhead Blackmon of Hartwell, GA; Granddaughter, and three grandsons; three nieces and a nephew; his companions daughter, Lisa Guyuax and her son Trevor of Charlotte, NC also survives.He was preceded in death by a brother, Doug Moorhead.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.Rev. Tim Adams will officiate.Burial will be in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends Saturday night from 7 to 9:00 p.m.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made in memory of Sammy Moorhead to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 3229 Burnet Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229-3095.
