Mr. Samuel Edward "Ed" Skelton, Jr., 68 of 2696 Bill Brown Cove, Hiawassee, GA, died Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at Chatuge Regional Medical Center, Hiawassee, GA.

Born in Hart Co. GA, he was the son of Eula Mae Isom Skelton of Hiawassee, Ga.and the late Samuel Edward "Ed Sam" Skelton. He was a graduate of North Georgia College, a retired Major in the U.S. Army, and was a former employee of Hart Telephone Company.He was a Vietnam War veteran serving as a pilot in the U. S. Army, and was a life time member of the VFW. Mr. Skelton was a member of the Hartwell First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother; wife: Barbara White Skelton of the home; two sons: Todd Skelton of Greenville, S.C., and Russ Skelton of Toccoa; two daughters: Missy Burton of Hartwell and Patti Drolshagen, Johnson City, TN. Four grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 25 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Dr. F. Hugh Kirby officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park with military honors.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home – Hartwell Chapel, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. The family will be at their respective homes.
