Mrs. Sandra Kay Fannin Mason, 77, of the Flat Shoals Community, Bowersville, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025 at AnMed Medical Center, Anderson SC.

Born on May 19, 1947 in Atlanta GA, she was the daughter of the late Russell Thomas Fannin and Bessie Cheek Gray.  Mrs. Mason was a graduate of Bass High School, Atlanta.  Mrs. Mason married her husband of 48 years James Larry Mason in 1968.  She was a retired accountant for Ziegler Tools and Ivan Allen Office Supply and currently worked at Ingles of Hartwell.

She believed in her Lord and Savior and participating in church was a big part of her life. She was a member of the Flat Shoals Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter: Dorothy Stephens (Joe) of Lilburn GA; a son: John Mason of Bowersville; a half-brother: Bill Fannin (Carrie) Byesville OH; three grandchildren: Sonya Mason, Josiah Mason and Logan Stephens and several cousins also survive.

Mrs. Mason was preceded in death by her parents and her husband: James Larry Mason and a son: James Glenn Mason.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Graveside services for Mrs. Sandra Mason will be Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Flat Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery.

Flowers are optional, and memorials may be made to the Flat Shoals Baptist Church, 2999 Bowersville Hwy, Bowersville GA 30516.
