Mrs. Sara Fulghum Akins, 93, 261 Fairview Ave., Hartwell, GA, died Monday, July 28, 2008 at Hart Care Center.
Born July 4, 1915 in Franklin Co., GA, she was the daughter of the late Claude Fulghum and Emily Powell Fulghum.She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
She is survived by:Daughters, Bonnie Phillips of Hartwell, GA and Louise "Wade" Lee of Hartwell, GA; Brother Edward Fulghum of Hartwell, GA; Four grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her Parents; Husband, Hubert Akins; Sisters, Troyce Childs, Louise Hambrick and Frances Kelley; Brothers, RC Fulghum, Paul Fulghum, and John Fulghum.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Rev. Jerry Durham and Rev. Doug Brown will officiate.Burial will be in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7 – 9:00 p.m. The family is at the home of Louise "Wade" Lee, 680 Dobbs Landing, Hartwell.
