Mrs. Sara Haynie Gurley, 91, of Bowersville, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Hart Care Center.

Born on October 8, 1931 in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie W. Haynie and Carrie Marett Haynie. Mrs. Gurley was retired from the Fashion Spot in sales and, she was a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church where she was a member of the Mattie Ruth Brown Sunday School Class.

Survivors include two sisters: Evelyn White of Hartwell and Mary Dushin of Anderson, SC; three sisters-in-law: Lottie Haynie of Anderson, SC, Shirley Green of Bowersville, and Helen Terry of Clemson, SC; and several nieces & nephews. Mrs. Gurley is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Frank Kennon Gurley; brother: James Walter Haynie; and one sister: Dorothy Ballard.

The family will receive friends Thursday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.  Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sara Gurley will be held Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Sean Payne officiating.  Burial will be in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.
