Mrs. Sara Estelle Hicks Haynie, 78, of Ernest Oliver Rd, Hartwell, passed away Friday, January 29, 2016 at her home.

Born on September 25, 1937 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Toby Ervin Hicks and Ruth Murray Hicks.Mrs. Haynie worked as an inspector for Elberton Manufacturing.Mrs. Haynie was also a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son: Ronnie Haynie of Hartwell; her daughters: Mildred Seawright, and Ann Davis of Hartwell; brother: Toby Hicks of Ellenwood GA; sister: Joyce Thornton of Portsmouth, VA; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Haynie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; Joe Dan Haynie Sr.; two sons: Joe Dan Haynie Jr. and Tony Roger Haynie; three sisters: Mary Frame, Susan Roberts, and Louise Hicks.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 1, 2016, at 2:00 pm at Strickland Funeral Home Hartwell Chapel with Rev. Daymon Haynie and Rev. Tommy Childress officiating.Burial will be in the Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening.The family is at the home.
