Sara Ruth (Browning) Norton, age 93, of Lavonia, died Thursday, April 25, 2013 at her home.
Born March 17, 1920, in Carnesville, she was the daughter of the late James W. and Mattie (Andrews) Browning. She was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church and the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She was a retired child care provider.
Survivors include three daughters & sons-in-law: Ann & Lamar Westmoreland, Sue & Claude "Bo" Greenway, and Vickie & Scott Brady; a son: Freddie Norton; seven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Albert Norton; a son: Donald Norton and sisters: V.O. Randall, Ruby Payne, Lucy Cole, Hettie Lou Atkinson; and a granddaughter: Kelly Greenway.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Liberty Baptist Church with Revs. Todd West, Gary Hulsey and Mike Smith officiating, the body will be placed in the church at 1:30.Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
