Mrs. Sara Nell Vickery, age 92, of Lavonia, died Friday, October 17, 2008 at Hart Care Center.
Born November 25, 1915, in Hart County, she was the daughter of the late Clifton and Evie Vaughn Floyd. Mrs. Vickery was an inspector with Carwood manufacturing. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Vickery is survived daughters and sons-in-law: Malinda and Darby Welborn of Lavonia, Gail and Truman Burgess of Martin; son and daughter-in-law: Billy and Janice Vickery of Lavonia; sisters: Mary Faye Smith and Marjorie Cleveland both of Lavonia; brother: Clifton Floyd, Jr. of Lavonia; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Vickery was preceded in death by her parents; her husband James Tye Vickery; brothers Guy and L.P. Floyd; and a great grandson: Tyrus Bode Weaver.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 19, 2008 at Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
