Mrs. Sarah Clyde Byrum Canady Allen, age 79, of 1513 Beacon Light Rd., Hartwell, died Tuesday, March 04, 2008
Born November 20, 1928 in Hart County, she was the daughter of the late Tommy Byrum and Onnie Louise Walters Byrum. She was retired from Bellcraft Mfg. Company and was a member of the Providence United Methodist Church, UMW and was active in church bakes sales and yard sales.
She is survived by: husband, George W. Allen of the home, son, Roger Canady and his wife Diane of Hartwell, Ga., daughters, Carolyn Vickery and her husband Bobby of Hartwell, Ga., and Glenda Smith of Martin, Ga., grandchildren, Darren Dye, Kevin Vickery and Justin Canady, step-grandchildren, Wesley Martin and Henry Harris, four great-grandchildren, Jessica, Heather & Hunter Dye and Michael Osborne. She was preceded in death by parents, first husband, Loyd Canady, grandson, Dennis Dye, brothers, Harold and Melvin Byrum, sister, Thelma Lee Byrum and by her son-in-laws, Gerald Dye and Tommy Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Hartwell Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. Rev. Doug Brown and Rev. Joe Black will officiate. Burial will be at the Nancy Hart Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Providence United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2395 Providence Church Road, Lavonia, Ga. 30553
The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening. The family will be at the home of Bobby and Carolyn Vickery, 1531 Beacon Light Road, Hartwell, Ga.
