Mrs. Sarah Fleming White, 90, of Comer GA, stepped into Heaven on May 24, 2019.She was welcomed by her Creator, Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and a host of family and friends.
Sarah was born in Hart County, GA to Denver and Irma Morris Fleming.She was preceded by her two brothers, Bill, and Emerson.
She graduated from Hartwell High School. She attended Young Harris College, and later completed her LPN training,
She married her high school sweetheart and the couple lived in Hartwell, North Carolina, Athens, and eventually Comer.
Sarah had a compassionate and generous heart toward anyone who was hurting.She was a true "Prayer Warrior" for family, missionaries and all others with needs.
She was known as the "Family Historian" because of her passion for genealogy.She was a gifted writer and researcher, penning two books on local church history.
Sarah was a devoted wife of 68 years to Billy, who preceded her.She is survived by her children, Marsha (Evin) Harwell, and Darrell (Jennifer) White.Her grandchildren, John (Alisa), Ashlee (Justus), Daniel (Elisa), Aleece and Jordan will miss their "Maw Maw" greatly.She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, and a sister, Peggy Anderson.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Wednesday May 29, 2019, prior to the service at 12 noon.The Rev. Barry Black will officiate.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Arthritis Association, or to a missionary group in a local church.
