Mrs. Sheila Jo (Cobb) McDowell, age 71, of Hartwell, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020 at AnMed Health in Anderson following an extended illness.
Born December 17, 1948 in Lavonia, she was the daughter of the late Hoyt and Rachel (Smith) Cobb. Mrs. McDowell was a homemaker and was a member of Price Chapel Church of God.
She is survived by her husband: Shemuel McDowell of Hartwell; brother and sister-in-law: Gary and Darlene Cobb of Lavonia; and sister-in-law Lynne Cobb. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter: Kayla Marie McDowell; and brother: Sandy Cobb.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Lavonia with Rev. Johnny Stowe officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. Those in attendance are reminded to adhere to social distancing and public health guidelines.
