Mrs. Shelby Jean Chitwood Bratcher, 85, of Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at her daughter's home.

Born on October 4, 1938 in Lavonia GA, she was the daughter of the late Clifford O'Neal Chitwood and Helen Elizabeth Sheriff Chitwood. Mrs. Bratcher was a homemaker and attended Mt. Olivet Church of God and Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter: Cindy B. Woodall (Adrian Maya) of Hartwell and her grand dog: Coco.  Mrs. Bratcher was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Joel T. Bratcher and her brother: Herman Lonnie Chitwood.

Mrs. Bratcher wished to be cremated and the family will have a private memorial service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hart County Animal Rescue, PO Box 45, Hartwell GA 30643.

The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
