Mr. Shelby Joe Phillips, 63, of Stillwood Drive, Hartwell, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital, Greenville SC.

Born on June 1, 1959 in Orlando FL, he was the son of the late Leslie Fitzgerald. Mr. Phillips was a police officer in Winter Garden FL and attended Bowman Church of God.

Survivors include: three sons: Ronnie Cantu (Jennifer), Chris Cantu (Sabrina) all of Hartwell, Shelby Phillips (Danielle) of Jefferson GA; one daughter: Christina Johnson (Brian) of Travelers Rest SC; eighteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his mother; his wife: Becky Rowland Phillips; two brothers: Ronnie Phillips and Kenny Fitzgerald.

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Bowman Church of God.  Other times the family will be at their respective homes.

Funeral services for Mr. Shelby Phillips will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bowman Church of God with Rev. Stacy Lynch officiating.  Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Bowman GA.

The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
