Mrs. Shelby Jean Tallent Campbell, 83, of Fourth Street, Hartwell, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at her home.
Born on December 6, 1936 in Bowersville, GA, she was the daughter of the late Dewitt Tallent, Sr. and Rosa Lee Hill Tallent.Mrs. Campbell was a former machine operator for Hartwell Mills and a member of the Hartwell Church of God.
Survivors include her two sons: Roger Campbell and Paul Campbell, both of Hartwell; two daughters: Kathy Freeman and Tonya Campbell, both of Hartwell; one brother: Dewitt Tallent, Jr. of Hartwell; five sisters: Shirley Freeman, Rachel Boles, Frances Adams, Doris McCurley, all of Hartwell, and Linda Fowler of Stephens, GA; four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Mrs. Campbell is preceded in death by her parents; husband: William D. Campbell; one son: Joe Campbell; one brother: Jerry Tallent; and one sister: Kathleen Jones
Because of the current conditions concerning the health and well-being of our community, the family will not be having a formal visitation.They ask that everyone keep them in their thoughts and prayers in the coming days and weeks.
Shelby will lie in state at the Strickland Funeral of Hartwell from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Saturday for anyone to come by and pay their respects.
Services for Mrs. Shelby Campbell will be held Sunday, July 19, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Johnny Stowe officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Garden of Prayer.
The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
