Obituary
Mr. John Shelton Vickery, 66, of 73 Community Road, Canon, died Saturday, September 13 at his residence.
Born on December 26, 1941 in Hart Co. GA, he was the son of the late James Carl "JC" Vickery.He was self employed and owner of Hart County Auto Parts, member of the Hartwell First Baptist Church, and member of the Nancy Hart Masonic Lodge #690.
Survivors include his wife: Shirley Shaw Vickery of the home; mother: Eloise Craft Vickery of Hartwell; son: Gary Vickery and his wife Rita of Hartwell; and three grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father JC Vickery.
Funeral services will be Monday, September 15 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Carter Tucker, Dr. Steve Williams and Bro. Fred Greenway officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home – Hartwell Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday night.The family is at the home.
