Mrs. Shelvie Jean (Rice) Edens, 73, of Martin, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017 at her home.
Born January 30, 1944 in Carnesville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Paul and Lola May (York) Rice. She worked in retail sale for Michael's Craft Store and was a member of St. Phillip Benizi Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband: Robert Edens; and sons: Michael Anthony Edens & Jodi and Christopher Scott Edens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister: Vera Belle Harper;and brothers: J.P. Rice and Marshall Rice.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at her home with Deacon Greg Pecore officiating. The family will receive friends at the home prior to the service. Burial will be in the family cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Mike Edens, Mike Hart, Jim Rice, Bobby Edens, Shannon Harper and Brian Valentine. On lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in memory of Mrs. Edens to St. Jude Children's Hospital at stjude.org.
