Ms. Sherry Lane Crowe Darley, 73, of Hartwell, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at her home.
Born on August 11, 1953, in Mobile AL, she was the daughter of Frances Temple Crowe and the late George Crowe. She was a retired media clerk with the Gwinnett County School System and a member of Sardis Baptist Church. Sherry loved Jesus more than anything, but close behind were her family, grandkids, Elvis, Hasuser, and anything Gone with the Wind. Her calling was to love others, and she was best known as GiGi to her grandchildren.
Survivors include her mother: Frances Crowe of Hartwell; two sons: Chris Darley (Martha) of Marietta GA, Greg Darley (Betsey) of Cumming GA; six grandchildren: Peyton Darley, Parker Darley, Anna Claire Darley, Brennen Darley, Rylyn Darley and Brooklyn Darley; a nephew: Josh Crowe of Atlanta and her grand dog: Meatball.
She was preceded in death by her father and one brother: Greg Crowe.
Ms. Sherry Darley wished to be cremated and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Sardis Baptist Church, with Revs. John Silver and Matt Elmore officiating. Pink and green were her favorite colors. If you would like to wear pink, green, or both to her Celebration of Life as a way to celebrate and honor her, please do. The family will receive friends following the service in the Sardis Family Life Center.

The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is assisting the family with all of the arrangements.
