Mrs. Shirley Lee Spears McCurley, 76, of Milford Road, Hartwell, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Hart Care Center.

Born on September 1, 1939 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late H.C. Spears and Mary Elizabeth Davis Spears.Mrs. McCurley was co-owner and bookkeeper for McCurley Screen Shop and a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son: Donnie McCurley and his wife Leisa of Royston; five sisters: Carlene S. King and her husband Guy, Jane S. Huffman and her husband Jerry, Wilma S. Stocks and her husband Phil, Ann S. Roedler and her husband Buddy all of Hartwell and Gail S. Foster and her husband Mike of Flowery Branch; two brothers: Jimmy Spears and his wife Dianne and Jerry Spears all of Hartwell; six grandchildren: Jeremy McCurley, Tiffany McCurley, Britney McCurley, Heather McCurley, Phillip McCurley, Sierra McCurley and five great-grandchildren: Keelan Tyler Jordan, Landon James Lewis, Jacelyn Riley Deaton, Brooklyn Kate Lewis and Major James McCurley also survive.Mrs. McCurley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Rayford McCurley; her son: Sandy McCurley; a sister: Sue Crews and a brother: John Ray Spears.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Jason Webb officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.The family is at their respective homes.
