Mrs. Shirley Frances Motes Rowland, 72, of 643 Vickery Street Ext., Hartwell, died peacefully Saturday, September 29, 2012 at her home.

Born on April 29, 1940 in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late Curtis Cortez Motes and Lillian Crook Johnson.She was the owner/operator of Lakeside Beauty Salon since 1961.There she made many friends and had the pleasure of serving her clients in Hart County and the surrounding areas.She has always known that God blessed her and her beloved family.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Rowland of the home; one daughter, Debbie Tant and her husband Mark of Hartwell; one son, Brian Rowland of Hartwell; one sister, Blenda New of Anderson, SC; six grandchildren: Amber Belanger and her husband Larry, Brandon Rowland, Marla Blodgett and her husband Dustin, Ariel Cothran and her husband James, Andi Swann, and Blake Rowland; four great-grandchildren: Ryan Adam Belanger, Breanna Belanger, Emily Belanger, and Alexis Belanger also survive.Mrs. Rowland was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Gloria Sadler.

Funeral services will be Monday, October 1, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Meeks and Rev. Lee Smith officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday night.The family is at the home. Flowers optional, special memorials may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1543 Anderson Highway, Hartwell, GA30643.
