Ms. Shirley Jean Sanders Shirley, 82, of Hartwell, passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 at Hart Care Center.
Born on March 22, 1936 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late Guy Sanders and Willie Vickery Sanders.Ms. Shirley was retired from Hart County Hospital and a former greeter at Wal-Mart of Toccoa.She was also a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church of Hartwell.
Survivors include her two sisters: Sara S. Whitworth of Jefferson and Wilma S. Howard of Lawrenceville and a brother: Kenneth Sanders of Hartwell.Several nieces and nephews also survive.Mrs. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and a brother: Melvin Sanders.
Graveside services will be held Monday, June 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Sean Payne officiating.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Monday morning.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cross Roads Baptist Church Family Life Center, 3636 Lavonia Hwy, Hartwell GA 30643 or to Inspiring Hospice, 126 Barrington Drive, Athens, GA 30605.
