Mr. Sidney Edwin Doker, 75, of Old Mt. Olivet Road, Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at AnMed Health Medical Center, Anderson.

Born on March 29, 1945 in Royston, GA, he was the son of the late Joseph T. Doker and Clara Mae Whitten Doker, and the stepson of the late Marie McCurley Doker. Mr. Doker was retired from the City of Hartwell, and a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife: Thelma Byrum Doker of the home; daughters: Teresa Berardesco (Bobby) and Pat Doker Richardson, all of Hartwell; granddaughters: Jamie Richardson Belanger (Jay) of Greenville, SC, and Marly Richardson Alvarado (Ben) of Martin; one great grandson: Silas Alvarado; one brother: Paul Doker (Doris) of Danielsville; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Doker was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: James Doker, Joe R. Doker, Carl Howard Doker, William Doker; and two sisters: Clara Lee Welborn Evans and Patricia Doker Moorhead.

Because of the current conditions concerning the health and well-being of our community, the family will not be having a formal visitation.They ask that everyone keep them in their thoughts and prayers in the coming days and weeks. Sidney wished to be cremated and the family will have a private graveside service at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Memorial Garden.The family will have a public memorial service at a future date when everyone can come together again.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society c/o Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1009 Benson St, Hartwell GA 30643 and a charity's of one choice.
