Mr. Sidney William "Sid" Wright, 83, of 139 Wilton E. Hall Road, Starr, SC, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Rainey Hospice House, Anderson, SC.

Born on May 24, 1928 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late William Daniel "Bill" Wright and Lurene Suit Wright.He was a supervisor and overseer at Starr Mill, a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple, and a member of the Iva Masonic Lodge and Herman Masonic Lodge, as well as a Shriner.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years: Jean Blair Wright of the home; two daughters: Pat Fuller and her husband, Tommy, of Anderson, and Cindy Crocker and her husband, Keith, of Belton; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his parents; three sons: Sidney William Wright, Jr., Danny Lee Wright, and Timothy Wright; and two sisters: Laura Lee Fleming and Lottie Motes.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 30, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Leland Pitts and Rev. Carter Tucker officiating.Burial will follow in the Reed Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday night.The family is at their respective homes.
