Stephen Pete Smith, age 44, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 11, 2024.

Born in Royston, GA, he was the son of Joyce Smith and the late Steve Smith.  Family and friends describe him as a sweet kind-hearted, loving and loyal human being. Recently, Stephen achieved a significant milestone by obtaining his pharmacy technician license and working for CVS, an accomplishment he was immensely proud of. He had a passion for video games, enjoyed exploring thrift stores, and loved traveling, particularly relishing Indian cuisine. Stephen was especially fond of his fur babies: Oscar, Isabella, Mosi and Nihzoni.

Stephen is survived by brother-in-heart, Larry Higgins of TN; his mother, Joyce Smith of Lavonia and his sisters: Lisa Bolin of Comer GA, Kimberly Benton of Danielsville GA, and Ginger Medlin of Lavonia GA. He is also survived by many extended family, friends and friends who became family. Stephen will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 2 pm at the Church of God of the Union Assembly, 128 Peachtree Street, Lavonia with Rev. Darrell Atkins officiating,
