Mr. Stephen Michael "Steve" Darnell, age 53, of Lilburn, died Tuesday, January 20, 2009 in Decatur, GA of lung cancer.
Born July 6, 1955, in Fulton County, he was the son of Dorothy (Black) Darnell and the late Tyre Eugene Darnell. He was a mechanic with Auto Air Plus in Decatur. Mr. Darnell was an avid photographer, carpenter, and gardener.
Survivors include his mother: Dorothy Darnell of Bowersville; daughter & son-in-law: Kimberly & Pete Foster of Social Circle; brother & sister-in-law: David & Molly Darnell of Tucker; grandsons: Tyler & Alex Foster of Social Circle; niece: Kristy Stewart; nephew: Russell Darnell; and best friends: Cathey & Nick Jones.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the Bowersville City Cemetery with Pastor R. David Bailey officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2565 Thompson Bridge Road, Gainesville, GA 30501.
