Mr. Hugh Steve McCurley, 72, of Hartwell, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021.
Born on February 25, 1949 in Royston GA, he was the son of the late Hugh B. McCurley and Jewell Sanders McCurley.Mr. McCurley retired after 37 years of service from BASF and was of the Baptist Faith.He was also a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the US Army.
Survivors include his daughter: Kathy McCurley of Hartwell; five grandchildren: Brittany McCurley-Williams (Tyler), Cameron Chatham, Carlee Morris, Clay Morris and Emily Howell; two great-grandchildren: Ellie Williams and Braylon Ayers; a brother: Kerry McCurley of Hartwell and a sister: Joy Johnson (Gene) of Dewy Rose GA also survives.
A time to celebrate Steve's life will be held Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 2:00 in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with military honors by the U.S. Army.The family will have a time to share remembrances following the military honors.
The Strickland Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
