Rev. Steve Allen Patton, 67, of Chandler Trace, Hartwell, passed away Friday, December 16, 2022 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.

Born on July 3, 1955 in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late James Patton and Marie Black Patton. Rev. Patton received his Bachelor's Degree from Carson-Newman University. As a Baptist minister, he served at many churches, such as Lydia Baptist Church in Laurens, SC, Dumplin Valley Baptist Church in Dumplin Valley, TN, Strawberry Plains Baptist Church in Strawberry Plains, TN, Milltown Baptist Church in Hartwell, Jeremiah's Call in Hartwell, Trinity Baptist Church in Hartwell, and Washington Avenue Baptist Church in Greenville, SC. He was also a member of the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church.

He is survived by his son: Richard Taylor (Alysia) of Hartwell; two daughters: Kelley Higginbotham (Jonathan) and Stephanie Redding (Andrew), all of Hartwell; one brother: Terry Patton of Easley, SC; two sisters: Mickey Barrett (Glen) of Easley, SC, and Jeannie Dobbins (John) of Williamston, SC; six grandchildren: Tyson and Asher Higginbotham, Sophia Hernandez, Scarlett Redding, Maddison and Jordan Taylor; and seven great grandchildren also survive. Rev. Patton is preceded in death by his parents and wife: Gloria Coleman Patton.

The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church.  Other times the family will be at the home of Kelley & Jonathan Higginbotham, 71 Randall St, Hartwell.

It was his wishes to be cremated and a memorial service celebrating Rev. Steve Patton's life will be held Monday, December 19, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church with Revs. Grant Myerholtz and Gary McCurley officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church, 273 Mt. Hebron Road, Hartwell, GA 30643.
