IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Steve M.
Sanders
November 24, 1947 – October 14, 2023
Mr. Steve Milton Sanders of Hartwell finished his 75-year journey up Sunshine Mountain on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at his home and with his family.
Born on November 24, 1947, in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late John Milton Sanders and Effie G. (Sanders) Sanders. Mr. Sanders was a kind, gentle man with a sweet spirit and gentle soul. He was a husband, brother, daddy, papa and a friend that you could always rely on.
He loved his work, his family and his friends. You would find him most mornings having breakfast at Mary's kitchen.
He leaves behind everlasting memories to Patsy Marie Haygood Sanders, his beloved wife of 59 ½ years, the two apples of his eye, Pamela Marie Emmons (Philip) of Hartwell and Tamela Marie Dixon (Mark) of Chesapeake, VA who tirelessly cared for their daddy during the final months of his life's journey. Additionally, he leaves behind his 'little brother', Doug Sanders (Betty) of Dewy Rose; his 'big sis', Peggy Cromer and his 'little sis', Sue Tallent (DeWitt), all of Hartwell. He adored his five grandchildren: Andrew Emmons (Thomas), Alex Emmons (Lauren), Aaron Emmons, Corey Dixon and Sarah Hagwood (Jeremy) and his seven great-grandchildren: Landon, Conner, Lilly, Brayden and Kinlee Emmons and Marin and Brody Hagwood.
The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home.
A private family graveside will be held for Mr. Steve Sanders at Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
A special Thank you to Lynn Allen, Terri Burden & Michelle Easterly of Affinis Hospice. Your great care and kindness will never be forgotten.
The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
