Mr. Steve Donald Shackleford, 73, of Cedar Lane, Hartwell, passed away Monday, January 18, 2021 at his home.

Born in Gainesville, FL, he was the son of the late Donald Witherspoon Shackleford and Jennie Hayden Williams Shackleford. Steve received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida and a Master of Science in Management degree from Stanford University (Sloan Fellowship Program). He was a retired vice president of business development in BellSouth International. He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Hartwell where he had served as the treasurer.

Survivors include his wife: Marguerette Brand Shackleford; two sons: Steven Drewry "Drew" Shackleford of San Diego, CA and Robert Donald "Rob" Shackleford (Salee) of High Springs, FL; one sister: Kerry Lou Ryskamp (Bob) of Woodbridge, VA; four grandchildren: Shade, Bellamie, Beckett, and Bowen Shackleford; one step-granddaughter: Ilan Vanderband; and two nephews: Ross Ryskamp (Hailee) of Pittsburg, PA, and Ryan Ryskamp (Jessica) of Woodbridge, VA.

Steve wished to be cremated and a memorial service will be announced at a later date by the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kiwanis Club of Hartwell, P.O. Box 762, Hartwell, GA 30643 or the American Cancer Society, 105 West Park Dr, Suite C, Athens GA 30606.
