Mrs. Mary Sue Williford Allen, 82, of Old 29 Hwy, Hartwell, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.

Born on August 31, 1940 in Lavonia, GA, she was the daughter of the late Llewellyn Williford and Catherine Isbell Williford. Mrs. Allen was a homemaker, and a member of the Oak Bower Baptist Church where she taught in & kept the nursery, and helped on various other committees.

Survivors include her two sons: Billy Allen (Betty) and Henry Allen, all of Hartwell; daughter: Sheila Fineza (Doug) of Hartwell; three sisters-in-law: Annette Williford of Hartwell, Imogene Bouchillon of Anderson, and Mary Ann Allen of Hartwell; four grandchildren: Heather Shields (Chris), Malarie Foust, Branson Allen (Heather), and Hannah Whitworth (Garrett); six great-grandchildren: Jacob Foust, Katelyn Foust, Sophia Shields, Eden Shields, Weatherly Allen, and Gracie Rae Whitworth; and several nieces & nephews also survive. Mrs. Allen is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Francis Benson "Ben" Allen; two brothers: Jack Williford Sr. and Sam Williford; and three sisters: Helen White, Wilma Yeargin, and Kathy Hamby.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell.  Other times the family will be at the home of Sheila & Doug Fineza, 157 Nelle Dr, Hartwell, GA.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sue Allen will be held Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oak Bower Baptist Church with Revs. Tommy Cleveland and Randy Perry officiating.  Burial will be in the Oak Bower Baptist Church Cemetery.
