Mrs. Sue (Addison) Williams, age 94, of Lavonia, died Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Stephens County Hospital.
Born March 26, 1917, in Stephens County, she was the daughter of the late Dorsey and Ida (Andrews) Addison. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Williams was a homemaker and a member of the Lavonia First Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Jay Pope Williams; and brothers: Harold Addison, DeLeon Addison, and Edwin Addison.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Gary and Carole Williams of Lavonia; daughter and son-in-law: Barbara and Max Freeman of Martin; brother-in-law: Harold Williams of Toccoa; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2012 at the Lavonia Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Finger and Rev. Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens – North with Rev. Chris Chitwood and Rev. David Edgar officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at their respective homes. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to the Lavonia First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 47, Lavonia, GA 30553.
