Mrs. Susie Caroline Rice Yearwood, 82, of 261 Fairview Ave., Hartwell, died Friday, October 20, 2006 at Hart Care Center.
Born on April 4, 1924 in Hart Co. GA, she was the daughter of the late Darvin Mack Rice and Nancy Elizabeth Rowland Rice.She was retired from Monroe Auto Equipment Company, and a member of the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters: Linda Baker of Central SC, Martha Byrum and Diane Holland both of Hartwell; two step-sons: Ronnie Eaton of Lady Smith, VA, and Ernest Yearwood Jr. of Boston, Massachusetts; two brothers: Leland Rice of Abilene TX and Carey Rice of Hartwell; two sisters: Ruth Smith of Pelzer SC and Dorothy Howell of Hartwell; six grandchildren: Kenny Baker, Keith Baker, Kevin Baker, Wendall Holland, Dennis Holland and Dale Holland; five great-grandchildren: Avery Holland, Elaine Holland, Ethan Holland, Charles Baker and Dawson Baker also survive.She was preceded in death by her husband: Ernest "Buddy" Yearwood; a grandson: Randy Byrum; four brothers: Luther Rice, Joe Frank "Buddy" Rice, James Rice and Lester Rice and two sisters: Edith McCurley and Sallie Cleveland.
Funeral services will be Sunday, October 22 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hartwell Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Stowe and Mr. Fred Greenway officiating.Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home – Hartwell Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday night.The family is at their respective homes.
