Mrs. Sylvene Brown Lewis, 92, of 261 Fairview Avenue, Hartwell, died peacefully Sunday, Oct 21, 2012 at Hart Care Center.
Born on March 12, 1920 in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Brown and Mary Frances Hicks Brown. Mrs. Lewis grew up on a farm and farming was her life.
Survivors include one son, Edward C. Stovall, Jr. and his wife Gail of West Union, SC; one daughter, Sara Stovall Wilson and her husband Wayne of Anderson, SC; seven grandchildren: Kimberly Wilson Hughes and her husband Robert, Brandon Wilson and his wife Tamara, Tara Wilson all of Anderson, SC, Edward Curtis Stovall, III and his wife Tammy of Greer, SC, James Mitchell Stovall and his wife Teresa of Mauldin, SC, Tracy Leigh Beers and her husband Roger of Peyton, CO, Toney Holley and his wife Wilma of West Columbia, SC; ten great-grandchildren also survive.Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Edward C. "Bud" Stovall, Sr.; her second husband, William Lewis; two brothers: Milton Brown and Grady Brown; and one sister, Jessie Mae Crump; and the love of her life, grandson, Michael Stovall.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Tommy Wade officiating.Burial will be in the Rock Branch Baptist Church cemetery.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.The family is at their respective homes.Flowers are optional, or special memorials can be made in honor of Sylvene Lewis to Hart Care Center-Patient Activity Fund, 261 Fairview Avenue, Hartwell, GA30643.
