Obituary
Mr. Talmadge Phillips, 95, of 740 Airline School Road, Bowersville, GA, died Monday, October 6, 2008 at Hartwell Health Care Center.
Born August 28, 1913 in Hart County, GA, he was the son of the late N.M. "Dock" Phillips and Lula Isom Phillips. He was a Farmer, and a Security Guard at the Hartwell Company.He was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church, Jule Weldon Sunday School Class and was a Trustee.
He is survived by:Half sister, Barbara Jean Reid of Canton, GA.He is preceded in death by his Parents; Wife, Drucilla Byrum Phillips; Brothers, Levis, Jeptha and Isom Phillips; Sisters, Mandy Hicks, Dessie Brown, Icie Myrt Adams;Half brothers and sisters, Matt, Inman and Virgil Phillips; Elizabeth Phillips, Clara Belle Wilson and Edna Hutcheson.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Cross Roads Baptist Church.Rev. Ben Coleman, Rev. Connie Mack Bowers and Rev. Marvin Ferguson will officiate.Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home ~ Hartwell Chapel where the family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7 – 9:00 p.m. The family is at their respective homes.Flowers are optional; Memorials may be made to Cross Roads Baptist Church Building Fund, 3636 Lavonia Hwy., Hartwell, GA30643.
