Grady Talmadge Roling, Jr., affectionately known as Talmadge, passed away on June 2, 2026, at Northridge Health & Rehabilitation in Commerce, Georgia. He was 70 years old. Born on March 1, 1956, in Franklin County, the son of the late Grady Talmadge Roling, Sr., and Melba Jean Sanders Roling.
Talmadge was a graduate of Franklin County High School, who worked, prior to disability, as a machine operator with Louisiana Pacific. Talmadge was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid outdoorsman, who cherished the time he spent hunting and fishing, hobbies in which he considered himself a professional.
Talmadge is survived by his children: April (Mike) Shackelford of Toccoa, Amanda (Chris) Vickery of Carnesville, Kelly (Seth) Scoggins of Commerce, Brian (Breann) Roling of Commerce, Jacob Roling of Toccoa, and Luke Roling of Toccoa. He was blessed with 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life. In addition to his parents, Talmadge was preceded in death by his sister, Angela Roling.
The family will hold a private celebration of his life at Sarah’s Creek, a place that he loved trout fishing with his sons. He was cremated in accordance with his request.
