Mrs. Terri Durkee Bress, 62, of 1244 Elrod Ferry Road, Hartwell, died Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at her home.

Beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt.Born Gainesville, Georgia, in 1949 to W.X. (Pat) and Jacqueline Floyd Durkee.

An honors graduate of Georgia State University, President's List and National Latin Honor Society.Retired Manager of Network Planning for Nortel.Recipient of President's Award and numerous professional honors and awards.Paralegal with Ridgeway and Ridgeway, LLP.U.S. Navy veteran.Member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church.

Preceded in death by her beloved mother: Jacqueline; stepmother: Carlene; and brother: Wayne.Survived by her husband: Larry; daughter: Jacqueline; father: Pat; sisters: Elizabeth Durkee, Melissa Krebs, Laura Gilliam, and Karen Durkee; brother: W.X. (Sonny) Durkee, Jr.; Gregory Gilliam and Steven Gilliam; seven nieces; and three nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Andrews Episcopal Church with Rev. Lee Peyton, Rev. James Clark, and Rev. Helen Vehe officiating.A private burial will be held at a later date by the family.
The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell where the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday night.The family is at the home.In lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to the American Civil Liberties Union or to the ASPCA.
