Ms. Mary Thelma Brown Dean, 79, of Fairview Ave, Hartwell, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Hart Care Center.

Born on June 5, 1939 in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late James Brown and Millie White Brown.Ms. Dean was a private home healthcare sitter and a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church.She also attended Price Chapel Church of God. She was a former member of the Red Hat Society.

Survivors include two daughters: Mary Sisk (Bruce) of Alto, Yvonne Dutton (Stevie) of Hartwell; one sister: Nell Coile of Hartwell; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.Ms. Dean was preceded in death by two sons: Jackie Dean and Fred Dean; five sisters: Gail Brown, Ruby Cobb, Rose Lee Brown, Lizzie Hambrick and Sylvia Broome.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Kenneth Taylor officiating.Burial will be in the Cross Roads Baptist Church cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.The family will be at their respective homes.
