Mr. Thomas Howard Johnson, 91, of Bethany-Bowersville Road, Canon, died Saturday, September 01, 2012 at his home.

Born on November 15, 1920 in Hart County GA, he was the son of the late Joseph Howard Johnson and Liza Lou Harris Johnson.He was retired from Rogan Mfg, where he was a supervisor in the cutting room.Mr. Johnson was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church, a former deacon, member of the Bowersville Masonic Lodge # 595 and a WW II U S Navy veteran.

Survivors include a son, Thomas Lynn Johnson and his wife Janice of Canon; a brother, Paul Johnson and his wife Charlotte of Hartwell; a sister, Jo Ella Kotal of Canon; two grandchildren, Jamie Johnson and his wife, Mollie and Joanie Haley and her husband, Joseph; six grandchildren, Madison Johnson, Jodie Haley, Joshua Haley, Jessie Grizzle, Nikki Grizzle and Kaitlyn Grizzle also survive.Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his wife, Reba Cochran Johnson and a sister, Elizabeth Stowe.

Funeral services will be Monday, September 3 at 3:00 p.m. at the Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Durham and Rev. Luther Thomason officiating.Burial will be in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday night.The family is at the home.Flowers optional, memorials may be made to the Bethany Baptist Church, 2085 Bethany Bowersville Road, Canon GA 30520.
