Mr. Thomas Daniel "Tommy" Hinson, 71, of 220 McAlister Road, West Union, SC, died Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Cottingham Hospice House of the Foothills, Seneca, SC.

Born on April 21, 1941 in Lavonia, GA, he was the son of the late Curtis Frank Hinson and Julie Pauline Hinson-Hinson.Tommy was a supervisor at Union Camp in Atlanta and then transferred to the Richmond, Virginia plant.Tommy was also a former Hart County School bus driver, former deacon, member of Bio Baptist Church and a US Army Veteran.

Survivors include his former wife, Mary Alice Hinson; a daughter, Pam A. McAlister and her husband Tim of West Union, SC; three sons: Wayne Hinson and his wife Wendi of Hartwell, GA, Todd Hinson of Duluth, GA, Matt Hinson and his wife Caressa of Buford, GA; two step-sons: Steve Fellows and his wife Sherry of Hartwell, GA and Mike Fellows and his wife Kristin of Winder, GA; one step-daughter, Libby Belkeir of Duluth, GA; ten grandchildren also survive.Mr. Hinson was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary Patricia Crittenden Hinson; and two brothers: James "Jimmy" Hinson and Sam Hinson.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Terry Meeks and Rev. Shannon Owens officiating.

The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday.The family is at the home of Mary Alice Hinson, 1407 Mt. Olivet Road, Hartwell, GA30643. In lieu of flowers, special memorials may be made to Bio Baptist Church, 2145 Bio Church Road, Hartwell, GA30643.
